S.O.M.E.O.N.E. Cares
Sisters Of Mother Earth On Natural Energy
S.O.M.E.O.N.E. Cares came into being from a desire to reconnect women to the global village of old where Mothers and Grandmothers passed their knowledge and wisdom on to their daughters. Thus providing access to information, support and assistance in all aspects of their lives, but specifically in pregnancy, birth and beyond.
With so many passionate, knowledgeable and caring women already providing professional support, it made sense to connect them all and allow other women access to this amazing network of support workers.
This network of global sisters gives you referral access to professional practitioners including Doula support, Childbirth Education, Hypnobirthing, Naturopathy, Homeopathy and Acupuncture.
As the owner of S.O.M.E.O.N.E. Cares, I personally offer three individual services which include Certified Doula- birth support person and post partum Doula, as well as Homeopathy and Naturopathy.
So if you are looking for someone who cares and will take the time to listen, give you support, information and empowerment - S.O.M.E.O.N.E. Cares.

What is a Doula?
As a Doula my primary role is to provide a safe nurturing cocoon for the birthing woman and her partner, where they feel calmed, confident and supported without judgement.
My goal is to help empower the woman and her partner by providing unconditional emotional, physical support and unbiased information during pregnancy, birth and the post natal period. By providing practical support and care, I hope to encourage their own self confidence and trust in their ability to achieve a satisfying birthing experience and ease the journey into gentle parenting.
As a Doula I do not offer medical examinations (vaginal examinations, foetal heart checks, blood pressure checks etc). I do not make medical decisions for you. My non clinical role as a Doula is to support women in their birthing choices and to assist couples to make informed decisions during pregnancy, labour and birth. I can support you in discussions with staff and facilitate an opportunity for you to discuss concerns or deviations from your birth plan. Thereby assisting you in getting the information you need to make your own informed decisions.
I am comfortable and confident with the birthing process and provide continuous care both emotional and practical support during the labour. I respect and honour a woman’s birth choice and her right to choose how she gives birth and with whom. I support these choices unconditionally. I believe it is everyone’s right to experience the birth of their baby as a safe, empowering and memorable rite of passage and to experience an empowering and confident journey into parenthood and beyond.
My services include-
· An initial free 1 hour meeting to ascertain if we are right for each other as Doula and Client/s, and to discuss my services.
· 4 Antenatal visits in your home (2-2.5hrs in duration).
At these visits we will discuss your hopes and expectations for the birth. By providing you with information you will formulate your birth plan/wish in writing. I will discuss relaxation and comfort techniques and coping strategies and create a safe space where fears and concerns may be discussed and supported. I will also offer support to partners by discussing what to expect in the stages of labour and how they best can offer support to the labouring mother.
· Unlimited access to me via Phone, SMS, or Email for the duration of your pregnancy and early birth period. I will research, within reason, anything you wish to have information about and pass this information on to you.
· I will be on call for you 24/7 two weeks prior to your due date and until your baby is born.
· Continuous emotional and physical support for you and your partner for the entire birth at your home and/or at the hospital from the moment you are ready for me to come to you until your baby is born. This includes pre-labour at home or even elective caesareans. The role of a Doula is to be continuous support to the parents so I will not leave the room unless you want me to. I will give suggestions during birth for positions, homeopathic remedies (if you want them), natural pain relief etc. I will massage and help your partner to be involved to whatever extent you both wish. Once the baby is born I will stay with you until you are clean, comfortable, and you and your baby have fed or until you are ready for me to leave. This is usually 2 hours post birth, however I am always flexible.
· 3 post natal visits (2-2.5hrs in duration). During these visits we will de-brief the birth and I will offer general support that you may need during the early postnatal period.
· Borrowing from my Resource Library. I have a selection of DVD, CDs or books you may wish to borrow during our time together.
· Photos of the labour, birth and moments after if you wish. Please be aware that I am not a professional photographer, but I will do my best.
· Other Services I can offer- Outside of my Doula role, I am a qualified Homeopath and Naturopath and can therefore offer additional consultations and information if required. (for example massage, nutritional or homeopathic remedies)
I hope that my services will allow your journey to be one of empowerment, and filled with support and love, easing any doubts and fears and replacing them with confidence and trust in your inner strength and wisdom. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I wish you an amazing and sacred journey.
